I got to spend a fun bit of time at Nashville’s newest bookstore, Howlin’ Books on Monday.  It is a bookshop in the best sense of the word:  not the upscale retail touted in other places, this is the Championship Vinyl of bookstores.  I mean that not just in reference to Nick Hornby.  Howlin’ shares its very cool renovated space with Grimey’s Too, so there really is a lot of vinyl to be found.  It also has an incredible soundtrack, cultured and friendly clerks, and a great sattelite Frothy Monkey in the back corner.

Located at 1702 8th Avenue South, Howlin’ Books makes a great stop before a show at Douglas Corner Cafe.  It’s out of the main hustle and bustle just enough that if you are the type who wants to get lost in a small bookstore, this is the place!

Pop in and have a listen, grab some more input, and shake it up with your favorite beverage.
